Two diving sites in Fukuoka
Shikanoshima Island
Shikanoshima island is a popular sightseeing and diving spot in Fukuoka.
Although it is close to a major city, the water visibility is good and marine life is abundant.
Diving is done in shallow waters at depths of about 5–10 meters.
For these reasons, Shikanoshima is an ideal dive site for beginners.

Koinoura Beach
This coast is famous for the sea turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs in the summer.
Underwater, you’ll find a beautiful sandy area beyond the rocky reef.
On clear days, the sand reflects the sunlight and becomes brilliantly bright.
It’s a truly relaxing, healing dive spot.
Seahorses can also be seen here quite often.

Due to the influence of the Warm Current, the water temperature is about 2 degrees Celsius higher than in Fukuoka.
The sea is warm and there are coral reefs in some areas.
Tropical fish such as clownfish and damselfish also live there year-round.
